Always use lubrication (water), otherwise the diamond core drill may overheat and be damaged. Cooling and lubrication are essential when cutting hard materials to prevent damage to the material and premature wear of the drill. Using water as a coolant or lubricant prolongs the life of the drill. When drilling on a vertical surface, use a hand spray to apply water or place a sponge soaked in water beneath the drill bit to maintain constant cooling.
