This tee is homage to the samurai culture of Japan.  Samurai is a term used to denote a member of the Japanese warrior caste who dominated the political system there for 600 years until the mid-nineteenth century.  They fought with great bravery following the code of Bushido and wore intricate armour and carried the very recognisable Samurai sword which is captured here alongside a traditional mask.
