This Azores guidebook by Rother describes 86 of the finest walks along the coast and in the mountains.  It includes walks on all 9 of the islands that make up the Azores that are Santa Maria, Sao Miguel, Pico, Faial, Sao Jorge, Terceira, Graciosa, Flores and Corvo. These islands located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean are a great attraction for walkers and those seeking adventure. The geography of the islands is very varied that is reflected by the variety of the walks.  The landscape varies from forests, rolling hills, and deep blue volcanic craters lakes, to towering extinct volcano peaks, along with many valleys and gorges.  There are many breath-taking views of volcanic craters, lakes, hilly countryside or the bizarre coastline. For each of the 86 walking routes there is a comprehensive description accompanied by a map showing the route at a scale of 1:50,000, GPS data, and height profiles.  Published by Rother in June 2020 (revised 4th edition), the majority of the walks in this guidebook are shown on the Azores Tour and Trail map.
