Sony's beloved controller gets a makeover for PlayStation 4 as the Dualshock 3 evolves into the Dualshock 4. Featuring a similar design to the popular wireless controller for PlayStation 3 (DUALSHOCK 3), the DUALSHOCK 4 boasts new innovations to deliver enhanced gaming experiences. The DUALSHOCK 4 features a new, highly sensitive six-axis sensor, as well as a touchpad located on the front of the controller, giving players entirely new ways to play and interact with games. The DUALSHOCK 4 has a light bar on top with three colored LEDs that light up in different colors. The light bar illuminates to match the color of characters in a game to offer an easier, friendlier way to identify players, even when playing side by side. The light bar also changes patterns during gameplay to provide useful information to players, such as when a character has critically low health or has taken significant damage. In addition, the DUALSHOCK 4 comes with a built-in speaker and a stereo headset jack, allowing PS4 users to enjoy high-fidelity sound effects from games both from the TV and from the controller. Combined with the Mono Headset that will come with PS4, players will also be able to chat with friends playing online, while hearing sound effects from the controller in their hand. While the SELECT and START buttons on the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller are integrated into a new OPTIONS button, the DUALSHOCK 4 is newly equipped with a SHARE button to further enhance the PS4's social features.
