Made from high-quality magnesium material, this magnesium anode rod helps absorb oxidizing substances and contaminants in water through electrolysis, protecting the metal water tank from rust and extending the life of your RV water heater. These magnesium anode rods are more effective than aluminum alternatives in attracting corrosive elements, preventing tank corrosion and prolonging heater lifespan. By attracting impurities in the water, the anode rod sacrifices itself to protect the tank. Once the rod is significantly depleted or fully corroded, the water heater becomes vulnerable to rust, cracking, failure, and leaks. This replacement anode rod measures 4.5 inches (115mm) in length, has a 0.5 inch (13mm) diameter, and features 1/2 inch threads. Designed for easy installation, simply unscrew the old rod to drain the tank and inspect the anode. If the rod is mostly corroded, replace it with a new one.
