20A EMI Filter for Audio Amplifiers

This audio power amplifier filter operates across AC 110V–250V input and delivers clean, filtered AC output at the same voltage range. It supports a continuous working current of 20A and features a compact board size of 108mm × 50mm. Constructed with flame-retardant ABS housing, it includes standard grounding and is designed specifically for high-fidelity audio applications. The filtering architecture comprises five coordinated stages: (1) RFI filtering in the DC circuit using dual 50A bridge rectifiers and four 35V/2200µF capacitors to suppress transformer saturation buzz and static current rise; (2) differential-mode filtering via two dedicated differential inductors targeting medium- to high-frequency interference; (3) first-stage common-mode filtering combining X2-rated capacitors and a common-mode inductor; (4) second-stage common-mode filtering for enhanced suppression — especially effective against fast transient pulse interference with repetition rates in the several-kilohertz range; (5) system-level integration with decoders or power amplifiers to remove DC offset, reduce transformer hum, and eliminate high-frequency power supply noise. The result is a purified AC supply that improves amplifier sound clarity, increases resolution, and deepens background silence.
