商品詳細

4.5Inch Magnesium RV Anode Rod

Each rod is 4.5 inches (115 mm) long and 0.5 inch (13 mm) in diameter, with 1/2 inch NPT threading. Manufactured using magnesium alloy bonded to a steel core for durability and secure thread engagement. Specifically intended for Atwood water heaters, including model 11553. Includes two rods and one roll of PTFE tape (colour varies). Operates on the principle of galvanic corrosion control: magnesium acts as the anode in the electrochemical cell formed between itself and the steel tank, corroding preferentially to preserve tank integrity. This slows down rust progression, especially in environments where heaters cycle infrequently — such as seasonal UK motorhome use or extended European layovers. Replacement timing should be based on physical inspection: when more than half the magnesium cross-section is gone, tank protection is substantially reduced.
