6DOF Gyro Accelerometer Sensor Module

This module implements the MPU-6050 system-on-chip to deliver synchronised 3-axis angular velocity and 3-axis linear acceleration measurement. Board dimensions conform to standard DIP-8 layout with 2.54 mm pin pitch. Constructed with immersion gold PCB and machine-welded components for repeatable assembly quality. Requires only a 3–5 V DC supply and uses standard two-wire I²C communication — compatible with widely adopted UK/EU development platforms. Internal 16-bit ADC provides high-resolution digitisation of analogue sensor signals. Gyro range options: ±250, ±500, ±1000 or ±2000 degrees per second. Accelerometer range options: ±2, ±4, ±8 or ±16 g. No external components required for basic operation. All sensor parameters are configurable through I²C-accessible registers, supporting dynamic reconfiguration during runtime — crucial for adaptive applications like gesture-driven UIs that switch between low-power idle and high-precision active modes. The tight mechanical integration of gyro and accelerometer within the same package eliminates cross-axis mounting errors common in multi-chip solutions. Target applications include motion-responsive gaming accessories, augmented reality headset orientation tracking, electronic image stabilization (EIS) in compact cameras, optical image stabilization (OIS) co-processing, indoor pedestrian navigation systems, proximity-free gesture controls, and posture-aware computing triggers.
