7A Optocoupled Dual H-Bridge Driver

This dual-channel H-bridge motor driver uses an L298-based architecture enhanced with optocoupler isolation and industrial protection circuitry. Each channel handles up to 7A continuous current and 50A peak, with supply voltage tolerance from 6.5V to 27V. Input signal isolation prevents noise coupling into sensitive control circuits, while built-in undervoltage detection halts operation before damaging low-voltage conditions occur. High-power TVS diodes absorb inductive transients from motor commutation, and ESD protection guards against handling-related electrostatic events. The module is rated for –25°C to +80°C ambient operation and features 3 mm mounting holes for rigid panel or chassis installation. Fusing guidance: include a main input fuse and 10A fuses per motor output. Logic-level control accepts 3V–6.5V signals for enable and direction; ENA pin supports PWM input from 0 to 10 kHz with 10 µs minimum pulse width. For safe continuous operation, pair with 12V motors ≤40W or 24V motors ≤115W—both limited by the 7A per-channel ceiling. Ensure the power supply can deliver at least double the motor’s nominal current to sustain voltage during dynamic load changes.
