How To Replace a Band Saw Tire? 1. Unplug the band saw, loosen the saw blade tension, and remove the blade. Then remove the band saw wheel. 2. Once removed, completely remove or cut off the old tire and any residue left behind. 3. Position part of the new tire onto the wheel rim, then insert a short rod or pipe between the tire and wheel. Roll the pipe around the rim to evenly stretch the tire and equalize its elasticity. 4. Apply a small amount of adhesive to a brush and spread it evenly on both the tire and wheel surface. Roll and repeat all the way around the rim. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours before using the saw again.
