Clockwork Chess Timing Device

Physical specs: 15 cm length, 5.5 cm width, 9 cm height. Build: Outer layer of solid wood, inner chassis of impact-resistant plastic. Finish: Natural wood tone, sanded smooth. Operation: Fully mechanical — no electricity, no charging, no settings menu. Press button to transfer timing control; toggles instantly between two independent timers for white and black. Accuracy benchmark: ≤±1 second daily drift — verified under controlled ambient conditions. Compatible with standard UK chess time controls (e.g., 30 minutes per player), rapidplay formats (15 mins), and junior development frameworks. Designed for daily use in libraries, after-school clubs, care homes, and home study — prioritising ease-of-use, clarity, and longevity over flashy features. Storage note: Store upright in dry, shaded location. Avoid prolonged exposure to UV light or damp surfaces to maintain wood integrity and timing consistency.
