CP2112 USB to SMBus Module

Compact, production-ready USB-to-SMBus interface module based on the CP2112 bridge IC. Dimensions: ~3.5 cm (L) × 1.8 cm (W) × 0.5 cm (H); mass: ~10 g. Dual power architecture: USB bus-powered (4.0–5.25 V) or self-powered (3.0–3.6 V); I/O voltage range: 1.8–5.25 V; operational temperature: −40°C to +85°C. Enclosure uses UL94-V0 plastic and nickel-gold plated metal interfaces for long-term mating reliability. Fully USB 2.0 full-speed compliant (12 Mbps), with integrated oscillator, 3.45 V regulator, and hardware reset. Includes 194-byte OTP ROM for storing unique device identifiers, 512-byte SMBus FIFO, software-tunable clock (94 kHz–48 MHz), and 7-bit configurable slave address. Eight GPIOs support flexible digital I/O modes including open-drain for SMBus-compliant signalling. Supplied with cross-platform drivers, GUI configuration utility, and HID-to-SMBus API documentation. Engineered for efficiency in hardware validation workflows: enables fast SMBus discovery, register-level access, GPIO-triggered state changes, and USB suspend/resume simulation. Used across industries for motherboard power management validation, battery fuel gauge calibration, embedded thermal sensor integration, and USB-hosted data acquisition from SMBus sensors.
