Daphnes Flight - Favourable Light [CD]

<p><i>Favourable Light</i> is the fifth studio album from <strong>Daphne's Flight</strong> and the second with the line-up of <strong>Chris While, Julie Matthews, Helen Watson, Melanie Harrold and Miranda Sykes.</strong> It features ten tracks, nine of which are original songs, the tenth is a cover of Madeline Peyroux's "Don't Wait Too Long".</p><p>Although the lead vocals are split equally between the five singers, each song has the hallmark of the Daphne's vocal arrangements that not only support the song but create a rich harmonic experience, complimented with tasteful and oft times sparse instrumentation. Make no mistake though, these women can play, they just do it in service to the song and not to bury it in over production. There are weighty topics on this album but there are also generous helpings of brevity, hope and love too and throughout it all, a sense of shared journeys and experience.</p><p>On <i>Favourable Light</i>, as is evident in their live performances, the listener and audience can't help but feel the love, energy and sisterhood they share, five world class singers, writers and musicians, Daphne's once again take flight to new soaring heights.</p>
