Durable Metal Telescope Hood

A purpose-built accessory for the Seestar S50, this metal lens hood combines functional precision with field-ready durability. Its external profile matches the telescope’s front housing contour, ensuring stable attachment without slippage or rotation during tracking. Made entirely from weather-resistant metal, it offers superior longevity compared to polymer alternatives under repeated UK coastal or rural exposure. The hood’s length and diameter are calculated to optimise the angle of acceptance — rejecting stray light while fully preserving the instrument’s native field of view. It requires no tools for installation, introduces no electromagnetic interference, and does not affect thermal management or battery life. Intended for regular outdoor use: it shields the lens from dew, windblown debris, stray fingerprints, and incidental bumps — all while remaining lightweight and fully reversible.
