Educational Triangular Glass Prism

A purpose-built triangular prism for UK science education, combining an optical glass refracting element with a functional black plastic support. The glass component is cut and polished to strict tolerances (apex angle 60° ± 0.2°), ensuring consistent deviation behaviour across multiple units. Physical specs: 50 mm side length, 30 mm height, glass thickness ~25 mm; bracket footprint 70 × 50 mm; total mass 105 g. Materials: optical glass body (certified to DIN 58091 standards for homogeneity), black plastic bracket (UL94 V-0 flame-retardant grade, commonly used in UK school lab equipment). Refraction performance is optimised for visible light: input beam diameter up to 10 mm yields full-spectrum output without clipping. The bracket includes dual-position stops (0° and 45°) plus free rotation, accommodating both preset demo setups and open-ended investigation. Detachment is achieved via axial lift — no twisting or prying — preserving edge integrity of the delicate glass faces.
