Flexible Rubber-Head Extendable Back Scratcher

This back scratcher centres on material intelligence: a stainless steel telescopic rod (69 cm max / 37 cm min) paired with a monolithic flexible rubber head and deeply textured rubber grip. Total mass is 145 g; shaft diameter is 12 mm for optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio. The head’s rubber compound offers Shore A 40 hardness — soft enough to compress comfortably against skin, firm enough to transmit controlled pressure for acupoint engagement. The grip texture follows ergonomic hand-mapping principles, with vertical ridges enhancing longitudinal control and horizontal bands improving rotational stability. The telescopic function uses interference-fit stainless sleeves — no springs or plastic clips — resulting in zero rattle, zero play, and silent operation. When collapsed, the unit forms a perfectly straight line with no protruding parts — eliminating snag hazards in shared storage spaces. All materials comply with EU REACH regulations for consumer contact items. Developed in response to verified UK customer feedback citing frustration with flimsy mechanisms, skin irritation from hard heads, and poor travel suitability, it prioritises reliability, tactile safety and quiet functionality — hallmarks of trusted European personal care tools.
