Handheld Dowel Guide Fast Accurate

This handheld dowel centre guide is engineered for speed and reliability in real-world UK workshop conditions. Measured at 20 cm long with a 6 cm wide fence and 3 cm height, it weighs just 330 g. Key materials include aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminium for the main body and GCr15 bearing steel for the drill bushings. The centre bar has a finely ground notch (±0.15 mm tolerance), and the parallelogram arms are pivot-mounted with brass bushings for smooth, zero-backlash motion. Fence adjustment is tool-free and secured by controlled friction fit. It supports drilling at 90° only, with bushings sized for 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm diameter dowels. The slotted fence accepts standard hardwood dowel pins for registration, and the integrated ruler enables direct measurement from the jig’s datum edge — eliminating transfer errors from separate measuring tools.
