Open the cover and carefully wipe the detection prism with a soft cloth. 2. Hold the refractometer toward a light source and look through the eyepiece, adjusting the focus wheel if necessary. 4. Read the value where the clear boundary line intersects the scale. This value represents the alcohol concentration of the solution.
