The FSR402 is a high-cycle resistive force sensor built for durability and ease of integration. Measuring 0.5 inch in diameter, it converts mechanical pressure (0 g to 10 kg) into a corresponding resistance value — decreasing resistance with increasing load. Its construction combines plastic and metal for mechanical resilience and consistent electrical behaviour. Lifetime exceeds 10 million actuations. Outputs a raw resistance signal requiring basic external readout circuitry. Used in robotics for tactile feedback, in biomechanics for relative force assessment, and in educational kits for hands-on electronics learning — explicitly not recommended for precision instrumentation or safety-critical load monitoring.
