Martyn Joseph - Chapel Porth Beach [CD]

<p>Chapel Porth Beach was the result of Martyn being asked back for a second time by BBC Radio 2 to be a part of their "21st Century Folk" project. He was commissioned to write a song to tell the incredible story of Marc and Vicky Murphy and their rescue by the RNLI who are celebrating their 200th anniversary in 2024.</p><p>Along with the studio take of the song and a stripped back acoustic version there are two new songs on the EP: 'Will You Come and Get Me?' (in memory of six year old Hind Rajab from Gaza) and 'Getting Older', a song with shades of Neil Young at his best.</p><p>Joseph also revisits two songs first recorded twenty years ago .. 'Wake Me Up' (2003) gets a complete re work here and 'This Fragile World's (2005) original recording has been given a new vocal and guitar work to represent how Joseph feels the track now. The beautiful cover photograph comes from renowned Canadian photographer Kathy Richardson.</p>
