The MT6701 is a high-performance magnetic angle encoder chip based on the differential Hall effect. It senses the component of the magnetic field perpendicular to the chip surface when used with rotating radial magnets. The MT6701 outputs 0-360-degree angle signals. In addition to providing ABZ/UVW incremental output and Analog/PWM absolute angle output, the MT6701 provides 14-bit digital angle output via the I2C/SSI interface. In addition to rotation angle measurement, the MT6701 also offers a push output to enable single-chip button functionality, supporting both rotation and press detection. Based on differential Hall technology, absolute angle measurement from 0°-360° is provided. Operating voltage is 3.3V to 5.0V, and the operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C. Typical linearity deviation is less than ±1°, and less than ±1.5° over the whole temperature range. System delay is as low as 5µs and can support speeds up to 55,000 RPM. The device provides an I²C/SSI interface to read 14-bit angle data inside the chip. The incremental ABZ output supports any resolution from 1 to 1024 lines. The incremental UVW output supports any polarity from 1 to 16. It provides 12-bit PWM output or analog output (12-bit DAC). A dedicated press detection output senses changes in magnet and chip spacing for single-chip button applications. Built-in EEPROM supports greater than 1000 write/erase cycles.
