Orienteering Lensatic Compass

Compact 85 x 57 mm form factor designed for precision field use. Housing made from abrasion-resistant polymer with corrosion-proof internal components. Luminous markings provide residual visibility in low-light conditions following daylight exposure. Precision-ground sighting lens and adjustable rear sight enable repeatable bearing acquisition. Dual-scale rulers (mm and inches) support metric and imperial map usage across European and UK Ordnance Survey formats. Includes lanyard for neck or gear attachment, illustrated manual in English, and ventilated canvas carry pouch. Optimised for competitive orienteering, trail navigation, and expeditionary use — supports quick azimuth transfer from map to terrain, accurate back-bearing verification, and rapid reorientation after detours. The lensatic format delivers superior consistency versus mirror or baseplate compasses when used with gloves or in wind-exposed locations. Field-tested across varied UK terrain: from Dartmoor bogs to Snowdonia ridges and Norfolk heaths — maintains calibration and readability despite vibration, humidity, and repeated handling.
