The device board uses the Pericom PI7C9X bridge chip to switch between PCI-E and PCI-E. Although it's USB 3.0, its theoretical bandwidth is 5Gbps (625MB/s). For a one-to-four splitter, the loss would be around 150MB/s. Even a single-channel PCI-E 1.x bandwidth is 250MB/s, so this product provides more than enough bandwidth for your slots without performance limitations. Therefore, the PCI-E slot used for transmission is best at version 2.0, and version 3.0 is even better. Multiple divided PCI-E 1X slots are all Gen2 mode; even if it's Gen1, it should be fine.
