As a member of the powerful acappella group, The Young Tradition, Peter Bellamy was one of the most active artists working to reawaken interest in the traditional songs of England. He was passionate about music, from the great English traditional singers, to the prisoners of Parchman Farm and the Rolling Stones and beyond. Both Sides Then – his finest solo album is a superb integration of his varied musical interests, drawing on English, Irish and Appalachian traditions.
