Portable 360mm Focal Length Scope

Built around a 360mm focal length optical tube and 50mm aperture, this telescope offers an optimal f/7.2 ratio — balancing brightness, field-of-view width, and magnification flexibility for novice users. The optical train includes two H-series eyepieces (6mm and 20mm) and a multi-coated 1.5X erecting Barlow lens, all housed in precision-machined barrels compatible with standard 1.25″ accessories. A 90° diagonal prism ensures comfortable viewing angles, while the finder scope mounts coaxially for seamless transition between wide-field location and high-power inspection. Weighing only 1000g and folding into a 42 x 20 x 10 cm package, it complies with UK rail and bus carry-on size limits — making it practical for astronomy clubs, school trips, or weekend countryside excursions. The tripod features independent leg-angle adjustment and centre column lock, allowing stable placement on sloped or uneven ground common in UK gardens and parks. All fasteners use captive nuts and brass inserts to prevent stripping during repeated assembly — a durability upgrade over plastic-threaded alternatives. Tested across six months of UK seasonal use — including November fog, February frost, and August humidity — the lens coatings and housing seals maintain consistent transmission and structural integrity without fogging or warping.
