Open the cover plate, use a clean cloth to wipe the prism.  2. Take a few drops of testing liquid to the detection prism, then close the cover plate slowly  to avoid producing bubbles which will make the liquor spread all over the prism surface. 3. Put the cover directly point to the light source or bright place, observe the field of view through the eyepiece. 4. Turn the eyepiece to adjust the hand wheel to make the blue and white line clear.
