For fixed-wing aircraft, airspeed, not ground speed, determines lift! Digital differential airspeed sensors offer extremely low offset, high resolution, and, most importantly, are not affected by noise interference from long cables and ratio output offset, unlike 2.6 analog airspeed sensors. The airspeed sensor kit uses the Measurement Specialties 4525DO sensor, with a measurement range of 1 psi (approximately m/s or 360 km/h or 223 mp/h), a resolution of 0.84 Pa, and data output by a 24-bit ADC with 14-bit precision. It can also measure temperature to calculate the true airspeed from the indicated airspeed using the MS5611 hydrostatic sensor. Because it is unaffected by the temperature of nearby processing components, its temperature measurement is closer to actual air temperature than previous analog sensors. This kit is compatible with all For and PX4 autopilot motherboards and includes M3/6-32 mounting holes.
