Davert's red lentils are very tasty and easy to digest because they have no skin. They're also rich in protein and low in fat. In India, red lentils prepared as dhal (red lentil curry) are a staple food and a delight for many vacationers and restaurant-goers. The fact that they are peeled makes them more digestible, but red lentils can no longer sprout. This food is ideal for making creams and purées, as it takes very little time to cook and results in a finer texture. Basic recipe (as a side dish for 2 people): Boil 150g of red lentils in twice the amount of water and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add salt only at the end of cooking. May contain traces of edible nuts and sesame and occasionally cereal grains containing gluten. Store in a dry place away from heat. DE-ÖKO-001
