1. Uses R820T2 tuner, higher quality passive components, a choke on the USB line to reduce USB noise, a greatly improved PCB design for significantly less internal interference and noise, various breakout pads, improved ESD protection, additional bypass capacitors and ferrite power chokes, an enhanced frontend adjustment circuit, and a better LDO. 2. SMA antenna socket – Universal dongles typically use the less common MCX or PAL antenna connectors. SMA is more widely used, so more adapters and antennas are available. It is also more durable and has lower RF input losses. 3. RF reception in direct sampling – Listen to 100 kHz 25 MHz with direct sampling. Simply connect an RF antenna to the SMA port and select the Q branch. There is a builtin 25 MHz lowpass filter, but additional RF filters may be required for performance (e.g., to block strong MW AM signals). 4. Better cooling system, large aluminum housing, and passive cooling – These devices come standard with an aluminum housing and passive cooling instead of fans. The circuit board is specially designed for passive cooling, thanks to cooling holes and the large aluminum housing. This prevents reception failure due to heat above 1.2 GHz.
