Ultra-Thin Flexible Pressure Sensor

This thin film pressure sensor measures forces from 0 to 30 kg with a compact 30 mm active diameter and overall dimensions of 60 mm × 5.8 mm. It is less than 0.60 mm thick and weighs only 1 g, making it one of the thinnest and lightest force-sensing solutions available. Constructed using highly sensitive flexible nanomaterials, it delivers stable performance across -20°C to +60°C and withstands over 1 million actuations. The sensor operates at typical DC 3.3 V, with initial resistance above 10 MΩ, response time under 1 ms, recovery time under 15 ms, and a detection threshold below 200 g. It is inherently waterproof and EMI-free, with no ESD sensitivity — ideal for integration into space-constrained or environmentally variable applications. Its core functionality relies on resistance change under applied pressure, enabling straightforward signal conversion via simple external circuitry. No complex calibration or proprietary hardware is required — just connect and measure. Common use cases include smart home interfaces (e.g., touch-sensitive furniture or appliances), automotive electronics (e.g., seat occupancy detection or pedal feedback), and new energy systems (e.g., battery pack pressure monitoring or solar panel mounting stress sensing).
