Universal Dowel Jig Compact Accurate

A universal, hand-held dowel drilling aid designed for UK and EU woodworking standards. Dimensions: approx. 20 × 6 × 3 cm; weight: ~320 g. Constructed from anodised aluminium with hardened steel drill bushings and a precisely milled centre bar featuring a sharp alignment notch. The fence is slotted at both ends to accept standard 6 mm hardwood dowel pins and includes a permanent metric scale (0–20 cm) engraved directly onto the side surface. No batteries, no assembly, no calibration required. Core functionality revolves around three interdependent systems: (1) the parallelogram-guided self-centring arms, (2) the slotted fence with depth-adjustable parallel stop, and (3) the metal bushing drill guides that sit flush with the workpiece surface to prevent bit walk-out. Tested with HSS twist drills up to 10 mm diameter on pine, oak, and MDF. Suitable for professional joinery tasks including carcass assembly, tabletop edge lamination, and knock-down furniture construction — especially where portability, speed, and dimensional consistency outweigh the need for CNC-level automation.
