Use a long, straight road with light traffic. The unit learns each gear position only once, allowing convenient on-road setup. You may pause during setup if needed. Always focus on the road and drive safely. Step-by-step setup: 1. Turn on the ignition. The display counts down from 6 to 1, indicating memory reset. 2. When 'L' flashes, keep the engine in neutral and at idle. 3. When '1' flashes, engage first gear, release the clutch slightly, and maintain engine speed above idle. The display will flash faster as the unit learns the gear. 4. When '2' appears, shift into second gear. 5. Repeat for all gears up to 5 or 6. 6. Once programmed, the unit will correctly indicate gear positions. 7. On subsequent startups, the display counts up from 1 to 6, confirming full functionality. Installation notes: Locate the connector under the fuel tank or beneath the seat. Connect the green wire to the crankshaft sensor cable on the motorcycle crankcase.
