W5500 Ethernet Network Module with Hardware TCP/IP for STM32 Microcontroller

What It Is This is a W5500 Ethernet network module designed for embedded projects using microcontrollers such as the 51 series and STM32. It provides a hardware-based TCP/IP stack, which offloads network processing from the host microcontroller and simplifies the integration of internet connectivity into your designs. The module is a practical choice for developers working with the W5500 chip and offers a straightforward upgrade path from the earlier W5100. Network Capabilities The module supports hardwired IP protocols including TCP, UDP, ICMP, IPv4, IGMP, and PPPoE. Because the TCP/IP stack is implemented in hardware, the host microcontroller is freed from handling low-level network operations, which can make your firmware simpler and more reliable. This is particularly useful when you need consistent network performance without tying up processor resources. Connection and Power Management Up to eight independent sockets can be opened simultaneously, giving you the flexibility to manage multiple connections at once. This is helpful for applications that need to handle several clients or data streams concurrently. The module also includes a power-down mode, which allows you to reduce power consumption when the network interface is not in active use. This feature is especially relevant for low-power or battery-operated projects where energy efficiency matters.
