Powered by two AAA 1.5V batteries (not supplied), it draws less than 5 microamps in standby mode, enabling an estimated 46-month operational lifespan. Communicates over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi using IEEE 802.11b/g/n protocol, delivering reliable connectivity up to 50 metres in open space and accurate detection across air gaps exceeding 1 cm. Rated for indoor use between 10°C and 40°C, and 20–85% relative humidity. Connects exclusively via Smart Life or Tuya app — available free on iOS and Android — to provide instant open/close alerts, remote status checking, and customisable notification preferences. Supports voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and enables rule-based automations when paired with other compatible smart devices using IFTTT or Smart Life scene triggers. Mounting is simplified: choose between strong adhesive tape or included screws — both methods ensure firm, vibration-resistant placement on doors, windows, drawers, cupboards or garage cabinets. Device access and activity history can be shared securely with trusted family users directly through the app interface.
